C3937736 (3937736, Fleetguard LF3970) is a genuine Cummins spin-on full-flow oil filter, critical for ISB/ISDE/QSB 5.9L/6.7L engine lubrication. Uses cellulose-glass fiber composite media to efficiently trap micron-scale contaminants (metal shavings, soot, sludge). Features bypass valve & anti-drainback valve to ensure uninterrupted oil flow during cold starts or clogging, preventing engine seizure. Works with C3975818 cooler core, D2830559 gasket, C3947287 plunger for a complete lube module.

Common Faults & Troubleshooting

1. Abnormal Oil Pressure (Low/Fluttering)

Causes: Clogged filter, faulty bypass/anti-drainback valve, torn media
Symptoms: Idle pressure <1.5 bar, hot-engine warning, power loss, noise
Solution: Replace C3937736 filter; inspect oil pump, regulator (C3947287), leaks

2. Filter Housing Leaks

Causes: Dry seal, over/under-tightened, old seal stuck, dirty mating surface
Symptoms: Oil seepage at base, stains, rapid level drop
