C3920691 (3920691) is a genuine Cummins snap ring, a key auxiliary component for the engine transmission system. Made of high-strength spring steel through precision stamping, it is used for axial positioning and locking of piston pins, bearings, shafts and other components, preventing axial movement during high-speed operation. It fits Cummins QSB6.7, ISB6.7 series diesel engines and is widely used in construction machinery, commercial vehicles and other heavy-duty equipment.

Mounting Location
Installed in the inner groove of the piston pin hole of 4934860 piston, 2 pieces installed symmetrically (1 piece at each end of the piston). It is clamped at the connection between the piston pin and the piston to lock the piston pin and prevent axial movement of the piston pin during engine operation, ensuring stable connection between the piston and the connecting rod.
Installation & Maintenance
1. Clean: Thoroughly clean carbon deposits, oil stains and metal debris in the piston pin hole groove to ensure the groove is flat, free of burrs and deformation.
2. Inspect: C3920691 has no deformation, cracks, excessive/insufficient opening; no rust on the surface, no peeling of the coating; good elasticity, can reset quickly after pressing.
3. Install: Use special snap ring pliers (internal circlip pliers) to expand the snap ring, slowly put it into the piston pin hole groove, release the pliers to make the snap ring clamp the groove, ensuring the snap ring is fully embedded without loosening or offset.
4. Matching: Insert the piston pin after installation, check that the piston pin rotates flexibly without jamming; no interference between the snap ring and the piston pin, axial clearance ≤0.1mm.
5. Replace: Always replace with a new snap ring when disassembling and assembling the piston and piston pin; never reuse the old snap ring (the elasticity of the old snap ring is attenuated and easy to fail).
6. Maintain: Check the status of the snap ring every 500 hours, replace it immediately if rust, deformation or elastic decline is found; avoid prying the snap ring with sharp tools to prevent damage to the snap ring or piston pin hole.
