C3906696 (3906696) is a genuine Cummins rectangular-section gasket for static sealing of critical engine joint faces. It prevents leakage of oil, coolant and other fluids, maintaining system pressure and performance. Often supplied as part of engine overhaul kits, it works with C5291050 oil pump, C3937736 oil filter and other components to ensure reliable operation of lubrication and cooling systems.

Common Faults & Troubleshooting

1. Leakage at Joint Face

Causes: Deteriorated seal, insufficient compression, poor flatness, uneven torque
Symptoms: Oil/coolant seepage, dropping level
Solution: Replace C3906696; Clean flange; Torque bolts crosswise; Repair flatness

2. Seal Compression Failure, Hardening & Cracking

Causes: High temp, fluid corrosion, improper installation, non-OEM part
Symptoms: Gap at joint, hardening, cracking, loss of elasticity
Solution: Replace genuine C3906696; Avoid stretching during installation

3. System Pressure Abnormality Due to Seal Failure

Causes: Leakage leading to low oil pressure; Coolant mixing with oil causing lubrication failure
