70989 is a TC type skeleton oil seal (double lip with garter spring), a rotary shaft seal designed for heavy-duty construction machinery, axles and transmission systems. Its core function is to prevent leakage of gear oil and hydraulic oil from gearboxes, drive axles and wheel reducers, while blocking external dust, mud and water from entering bearing and gear chambers. Constructed with Nitrile Rubber (NBR) and a metal skeleton, the sealing lip features a self-tightening spring, ensuring stable sealing, wear resistance and anti-aging properties under high-speed rotation, heavy-duty shock and oil-immersed harsh conditions.

Common Faults & Troubleshooting
- Oil Leakage:Caused by lip wear, hardening, spring failure or shaft journal scratches. Replace 70989 seal, inspect shaft surface finish, repair journal if necessary.
- Premature Aging:Rubber embrittlement due to high temperature or inferior oil. Replace seal and use original specification lubricant.
- Lip Turning/Breakage:Improper installation, shaft burrs or embedded contaminants. Clean housing, deburr shaft, press seal correctly.
- Abnormal Noise/Increased Wear:Dry friction, lack of lubrication or foreign matter ingress. Check lubrication, replace seal and clean cavity.
